When creating our digipak their were certain codes and conventions we needed to follow for the dance genre. For example, dance music digipaks include bold colours, the artists record label, a barcode, a font which is bold and eye catching etc… (check out blog post on codes and conventions for more information.). One theme we have decided to follow was the exploding paint effect. We decided to do this because our digipak and poster would be easily identifiable and it is bold and eye catching to an audience. One thing we felt was important to us was that we also used our own images within the digipaks. For this reason, we decided to layer our own photos within the text on the Digipaks. For example, on the back of the digipak i have used my own photo that i took at a festival of the sunset layered within the tracks on the CD. Other dance artists have used this effect such as Wilkinson on their Digipaks such as AFTERGLOW as their is an image layered within the text. We have decided to make this an ongoing theme within the digipak as its featured in the front, the back and the lettering on the CD.
